Looking Back at 2007

THE FAIR PRONOUNCED BIG SUCCESS - PROMISES OF MORE AND BIGGER FOR 2008 EVENT

The Fair this year drew more shoppers than ever.

Herbert Martin was back with a new book about a fearful pegberttheeagle.jpgair of young eagles.  Herbert is a born teacher and he spent most of the day reading his book to young and old and talking about the fears young ones (of all species) face.

Also on hand with a new book - Dorothy Nell Harper, whose "Poetry, Music of the Soul" did quite well. Generous as well as a canny saleswoman, Dorothy Nell held a drawing for a free book. Below are some of the entrants - the middle guy won a book. It does pay to enter!hcacdnstudents.JPG

Lynn Deweese - paper arts

Lynn Deweese brought her cards. The Two Sisters, Janet Slayden and Lisa Schraw came with a selection of handmade items - potholders, Santas, cards, gifts. hcacdeweese3.JPG

Denise Berryhill and Briarwood Farms had a selection of herbal gifts that smelled good, felt good and were good for you. hcacberryhill1.JPG

A different sort of gift came from Marion, Kentucky - Kentucky Birdhouses made from license plates. One shopper purchased for a family member and vowed if this relative (who is reported to have "everything")  already has a Hickman County birdhouse, he would never get another gift for him again! hcacbirdhouse2.JPG

Unsung heroes - Cherry Pyron for organizing the luncheon - Katie Beck, Betty Crisp, Bette Chandler who helped her serve.  Everyone who brought food - chili, sandwiches, desserts, drinks.
Henry Brazzell for keeping up with the money, tickets, chances, door prizes.  The First United Methodist Church and the men who set up tables for us - and didn't make us take them all down.
