Call for Entries:

Mayfield/Graves County Art Guild has issued a “Call for Entries” for Impressions 2007.  The 17^th annual juried art exhibition is open to all visual artists in Kentucky and the surrounding states.

The award categories are Pastels, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Photography, and Mixed Media / Fiber Art. $100 will be awarded for first place and $50 for second place in each of the 6 categories plus the $200 Best of Show award. Special awards are the Darleen Phipps Memorial Award for recognition of excellence in oil painting realism ($150) and the Laurel Oak Garden Club Best Botanical Representation ($50).

The non-refundable entry fee is $15 for one or two works and $7 for each additional work. Call the Guild at 270-247-6971 for an entry form or more information.

This year’s juror is Debi Henry Danielson, Executive Director of the Murray Art Guild.  Debi received a Master of Arts in painting from Murray State University and a Master of Fine Arts in painting and drawing from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Upon returning to Murray, she established her studio and has also enjoyed various teaching experiences.

The Guild is a non-profit arts organization located in the historic Ice House, 120 North 8th St. (corner of North and North Eighth Streets) in Mayfield. The Guild is accessible to individuals with disabilities. The Guild’s regular hours are Tuesday – Friday 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Admission is free.
