SANTA CLAUS CAME TO TOWN!

Lots of good boys and girls were at the Fair to get their photo taken with Santa. Thanks to digital photography, Mom and Dad got to see how their pictures on the spot. Photographer Tina Harper had her hands full with tiny tots who weren't always excited about getting close to a fat guy in a bright red suit.
hcacroom1.JPGDanny Whitlock, Ivan Potter, Bette Chandler, Coralyn Bugg and Sheri Roberts began working on the 2007 Fair this summer.  Their hard work paid off in a big way when it was often standing room only and no room to move about during the Fair 2007.

Artists and authors from Paducah, Marion, Bardwell joined our local talented folks in offering an alternative to mall shopping. hcacshirleyb.JPG

Shoppers of all ages came out. Babies in carriers with moms and dads, grandmas with toddlers, farmers in overalls and boomer couples looking for something different showed up to support the arts and get a special something to go under their tree.

Oil painters, like Maryanna Weatherford came to offer their works. Maryanna is a senior artist living at the Intermediate Care Facility in Clinton has a small studio to turn out big pieces like the one at right. hcacweatherford.JPG Maryanna's colorful oils of flowers and fruit are testimony that talent doesn't have an expiration date.

Also at the Fair - paper artists - calligraphers who create special cards and gifts.

Also at the Fair -artist Jenny Young who brought her pencil drawings of her grandchildren, Melody and Quincy Russell.
hcacyoung2.JPG Jenny's work also includes haunting landscapes with a misty morning feeling.  Jenny has been busy producing a variety hcacyoung1.JPGof works, like those at right.

the Council

Dorothy Nell offered to make her world famous (well, maybe not world famous - but it should be!) fudge to auction at the Fair on December 1st.
