March 2007

Greetings!
I am trying something new since several of you have said that messages from my email server aren't getting delivered properly.
The beauty of this format is it does not come from my Incredimail server, but from the website, so more of you can see it. This does not mean the website won't be updated regularly with pictures and stories! Please check it out regularly.
Much is going on in April. Quilt Month will be celebrated in a big way here and Writer's Day comes up April 24th.
I look forward to seeing you at the meeting on the 26th.
Mary

A subcommittee selected a stylized tulip pattern to create our first quilt block on the pool hall building. The tulips will be red, stems green and the background a cream-yellowed. The square will be framed in green.
The subcommittee decided to go with a very simple pattern our first time out. We tried different patterns and color schemes and decided to use the one Ivan created. It will be beautiful from a distance and against the red brick wall of the building.
The square will be an eight foot square of a plywood called "sign board". Danny Whitlock researched the available materials and this one seemed the most economical and long lasting.
Painting and framing will take place in Danny's workshop. When he has the board, he will let us know so the painters among us can get to work.
