Twenty nine members and guests gathered to meet, eat, greet and entertain ourselves in celebration of the Arts Council's first year of its new life. Rev. Charles Blair blessed our food and our fellowship. Mitzy Spraggs served a fine dinner, assisted at the last minute by Paul Beck who saw she needed help and pitched right in.

Entertainment was as varied as our members. Sheri started us out with a poem she wrote about Virginia Jewell. Leanna shared her scrapbook from the time she and husband Mark were waiting to adopt their daughter, Richli, from China. Dorothy Nell read a poem marveling about the egg and a second on the dogwood tree. John shared a story of an ancestor's ride in a horseless carriage that turned out not so well. Ivan discussed his upcoming Belmont print and displayed his first. Jackie shared her "thank you" poster of 1985 Clinton. Danny brought pottery. Katie decorated the tables. Henry played his gutar and sang an original song. Bette read a tongue twisted story of Cinderella (don't try this at home!). Mary told a tale of a drive home one dark night.

Too bad for those of you who couldn't come! We missed you.

Jackie brought Virginia's books and a scarf to display as a tribute to Miss Virginia.
Memories of her were a thread through our evening.
